Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design, coordination, and supervision of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise, project management experience, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities:

A. Design and Engineering

1. Lead the design and engineering of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire protection systems
2. Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards requirements
3. Perform calculations, prepare drawings, specifications, and technical reports
4. Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and material selections

B. Project Coordination

1. Coordinate MEP designs with other departments (architecture, structure, procurement, etc)
2. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders
3. Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with design and specifications
4. Resolve technical issues during construction and commissioning phases

C. Project Management

1. Manage MEP project deliverables, schedules, and budgets
2. Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are met
3. Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and project specifications
4. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians

D. Quality Assurance

1. Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of designs
2. Implement best practices and industry standards in MEP design and engineering

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
2. 7 years of experience in MEP design and engineering, with demonstrated expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
3. Proven track record of managing MEP projects from conception to completion
4. Proficiency in MEP design software such as AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, or similar
5. Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
